Summertime in Athens may be a ghost town, but when Ohio Brew Week hits this July 10 to 18, it’s a different world altogether. Suddenly your Athens Ohio housing is in the middle of a tourist destination. Hotels fill up. People come from all over the surrounding three states to sample craft beers from the region. It’s also a popular time for Alumni, an unofficial Homecoming where craft brew is the game and empty glasses are how you keep score.
Bigger than Ever
The Last Call celebration on Court Street, the culmination of the nine day festival, set records with a headcount of 1,500 last year. The festival hopes to outdo itself this year with an even bigger party.
