When it comes to nightlife, Ohio State and the surrounding Columbus area offer a little something for everyone.

Kildare’s Irish Pub: 

This popular spot is known for its lively atmosphere and late-night happy hour specials. The menu features traditional Irish fare like shepherd’s pie and Guinness beef stew, as well as American classics like burgers and wings. 

Kildare’s also has an extensive list of beers, both domestic and imported. 

Fourth Street Taproom & Kitchen: 

Located just steps from campus, Fourth Street Taproom & Kitchen is a favorite among students for its cheap drinks and pub grub. 

The bar offers daily food and drink specials, including half-off all drinks on Tuesdays. There’s also pool tables if you want to play some games while you imbibe. 

The Little Bar: 

As its name suggests, The Little Bar is on the smaller side but don’t let that deter you – this place packs a big punch when it comes to flavor (and alcohol content). 

The bartenders here are mixology masters who can whip up any kind of cocktail imaginable – ask them to make something special just for you or try one of their signature drinks like the “Little Red Riding Hood.” You won’t be disappointed either way! 

Eddie George’s Grille 27: 

Named for and owned by former Ohio State football star Eddie George, this restaurant/bar boasts an impressive menu with everything from steakhouse favorites such as filet mignon to more casual dishes like burgers and pizzas. 

And what goes better with good food than good booze? Eddie’s has got that covered, too, offering over 50 different types of wine along with craft cocktails made by expert mixologists. 

If beer is more your thing, they’ve got 20 rotating taps featuring local brews, so there’s always something new (and delicious) available. 

Thirsty Scholar: 

This cozy neighborhood bar feels like home away from home – in fact, many regulars consider the staff here family. It’s not uncommon to see people playing board games or darts while enjoying a pint at Thirsty Scholar.

Goody Boy: 

Another Short North staple, Goody Boy specializes in classic comfort foods done right. Think grilled cheese sandwiches, mac n’ cheese, cheeseburgers and chicken pot pies all washed down with cold beer or milkshakes spiked with adult beverages, because why not? 

Come early, though – once word gets out about how good these eats are lines start forming quickly! 

Midway: 

A relative newcomer compared to some other spots on our list, Midway still manages pack quite bit into its small space – serving up creative cocktails, hosting DJ dance parties, art shows and even yoga classes! 

When it comes time refuel, chow down on elevated pub grub from sushi to bento bowls before heading back out onto High Street where the party continues all night long. 

The Library Bar: 

TBDITL is this bar’s motto: THE Best Damn Basement in THE Land. Enjoy a wide array of activities in this watering hole, from karaoke to awesome game day experiences. 

Sadly, you probably won’t be able to do much studying in this library, though you may learn a thing or two from the regulars who go here. 

The Varsity: 

This bar is a favorite among OSU students for its cheap drinks and rowdy atmosphere. The Varsity is always packed on game days when fans come to cheer on the Buckeyes while enjoying some beers and burgers.
