OSU is one of the largest universities in the United States with over 58,000 students enrolled. With so much to do and see on campus, it can be tough to know where to start. 

That’s why we’ve put together a list of 14 bucket-list items that you can complete at OSU. From visiting Mirror Lake to experiencing a game day in the Horseshoe, there’s something for everyone!

Check Out the View from the 11th Floor of Thompson

The view from the 11th floor of Thompson is unbeatable. Whether you’re looking out at the Oval or down at the city of Columbus, the view is sure to take your breath away. 

Take a Picture in Front of Mirror Lake

There’s no better way to commemorate your time at OSU than by taking a picture in front of Mirror Lake. This iconic location is a must-see for any visitor to campus and is the perfect place to snap a selfie or group shot. 

See the Lights at Mirror Lake

Seeing Mirror Lake is one thing – but seeing it around the holiday season is another.

In addition to the water’s natural beauty, Mirror Lake is also known for its light show. Every holiday season, the lake is lit up with thousands of colorful lights, making it a must-see for anyone visiting or living on campus.

Go to a Game at the Horseshoe

For many students, experiencing a game day in the Horseshoe is a huge bucket-list item. With over 102,000 seats, the Horseshoe is the largest stadium in the United States that’s used exclusively for college football. 

If you’re lucky enough to be in Columbus on a game day, make sure to experience the excitement and energy of a Buckeye game.

Check Out an Exhibit at the Wexner Center

Wexner Center for the Arts is one of the most popular cultural attractions on campus. With exhibitions, performances and educational programs, there’s something for everyone at the Wexner Center.

Walk Through Buckeye Grove

Buckeye Grove is one of Ohio State’s most popular and oldest traditions.

If you’re looking for a place to hang out and enjoy some food and drinks, then High Street, located just off-campus, is a perfect place to be. With over 100 restaurants and bars, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste. Whether you’re in the mood for Mexican, Italian, or American cuisine, High Street has you covered. In addition, there are plenty of places to grab a cup of coffee or a cocktail, so you can relax and take in the sights and sounds of Columbus.

Bring your Family Down for a Special Weekend

Family Weekend at OSU is a great opportunity for students to show their families around campus and introduce them to their friends. 

There are plenty of events and activities planned for the weekend, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Some of the highlights include the football game, the parade and the family carnival. 

Learn More at TEDx

If you’re looking to learn more outside of the classroom, consider checking out TEDx Columbus through the Ohio State University Student Chapter.

This student-run organization is dedicated to promoting and organizing TEDx events in Columbus and is the perfect place to learn more about TED and its mission. In addition, the chapter is a great place to meet new people and get connected with the greater Columbus community. 

Try New Foods at Taste of OSU

The Taste of OSU is a campus tradition that celebrates the diversity and cuisine of Columbus

This event brings together representatives from over 50 restaurants and food trucks, giving students the opportunity to try something new. Whether you’re in the mood for Mexican, Indian, or American food, you’re sure to find something that satisfies your taste buds. 

There are also plenty of places to get a cup of coffee or a drink, so you can relax and enjoy the festivities. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the diversity of Columbus and taste some of the best food that the city has to offer, this event is perfect for you.

Watch an Off the Lake production

OSU is known for its world-class theater productions and the Off the Lake production is no exception. This annual event brings together students, staff and community members to celebrate the arts. In addition to its theatrical productions, off the lake also features a variety of other art forms, including music, dance and visual arts. 

Attend a Skull Session

The Skull Session is a must-see event for any Buckeye fan. This annual event brings together the OSU football team and the marching band, giving fans a chance to see the team and hear the marching band perform. 

Also, the Skull Session is also a great opportunity to meet the players and get autographs. 

Walk through the Scarlet Skyway

If you’re looking for a unique way to get from one end of campus to the other, then the Scarlet Skyway is the perfect way to do it. This skyway connects the Morrill Tower to the South Oval, giving students and visitors a convenient way to get around campus. The Scarlet Skyway offers great views of the Columbus skyline and of Ohio State University’s iconic buildings.
