Jazz and blues merge in a unique form of cultural expression from the global artists Mwenso and the Shakes, all the way from Harlem but headlining in Athens on Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at John Calhoun Baker University Center at 1 Park Place. Troupe members originate from Sierra Leona, Greenwich Village, Jamaica, Madagascar, Hawaii, South Africa, France and Florida. Musical styles run the gamut from James Brown, to jazz and rhythm and blues greats.
