Summertime Is All About Summer Camp on Campus

May 29, 2020

This is a notice on Ohio University’s website: Under the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, after weighing the needs for proper health and safety of our community and staff, this year’s in-person Campus Rec Summer Camp program has been canceled.

The following article was posted before the pandemic emergency but we’re hoping the information will still apply next summer: Summertime is camp time in Athens for kids 6-12, as Ohio University hosts registration for Campus Red Summer Camp. Kids can enjoy a variety of activities, including:

  • Swimming at the Aquatic Center
  • Climbing the rock wall at Ping Recreation Center
  • New sports skills
  • Arts and crafts
  • Ice breaker and team-building activities.

Classes are held Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with drop-off beginning at 7:45 a.m., and pickup through 5 p.m. Summer camp typically commences the first week in June and wraps up in mid-August.

Cost is $150/week, with a $75 deposit per child due at registration.
