Held this March 31 through April 2, Ohio University’s website calls Mom’s Weekend, “Historically, one of the most popular weekends of the year.”
Ask your local bartender, and she’ll tell you, “Historically, Mom’s Weekend is one of the most popular weekends of the year to get loaded.”
Yeah, Mom spent 20 years telling you “to eat your green beans,” but the poor woman is tired of that crap. She needs a break. She needs the OU college experience. And the best way to live that life is if you have an Athens, Ohio apartment near bars.
Get Mom loaded. Then walk her to the couch. Just make sure it isn’t far. Athens’ brick streets leave a mark.
Try a Different Approach and Sell Mom on Somewhere Farther Away
Nothing in Athens is really that far from campus, uptown or the bars.
If your mom is more hesitant than most about alcohol consumption, sell her on a place on East State Street. Sure, it may be “further” from the bars, but there are more perks:
- Many of these properties come with yards.
- The odds of you having a parking spot are higher here.
- Most properties along East State Street are big enough for you and a huge group of friends to sign a cheaper lease.
All that in exchange for a slightly longer walk to campus? Sign me up.
